Costa Rica Hotel Riu Guanacaste

Has anyone stayed here before? Looking to bring family for spring break.
It’s an all inclusive and priced reasonable. Makes me a little suspicious with quality of resort and food. Online it says the entire resort was just renovated and completed this fall.
I wanted to stay at the Westin Conchal all inclusive but it’s booked up (much pricier).

I'm pretty sure that was a Marriott before when I stayed for my honeymoon a long arse time ago. It's spring break, not a wedding. Just make sure the airport transfer is reliable. When you're booking an all inclusive, it's not exactly like you're expecting Michelin restaurants, right? Look at the hours of the restaurants and clubs on site, because they're not all open at the same time.
Your experience will have a decent amount of difference if you book bottom of the barrel rooms, versus anything with a swim up, etc. For one of my birthdays, we got a 2 story condo with a hot tub on the roof, as well as a swim up pool on the ground floor, for $100 more a night than the people confined to windowless rooms on inside hallways.

Well, your profile saying you're in the Woodlands was an indicator that your wife may have unreasonable expectations (as would Katy). I'm just trying to help a bro out, no matter where you end up.
I view all inclusive experiences predominately dictated by who I invite. You can get service anywhere by tipping someone $20 or $100 up front. But some people do think "all inclusive" means that Gordon Ramsay's sous is going to explain every dish to you. You already know who your wife will probably invite that will be a problem, and she's going to be a problem no matter the resort.
We had a great time in Guanacaste because the Canadians from Alberta in the winter meant the LSU people (us) wouldn't be the primary source of embarrassment or law enforcement action.

We stayed at the Riu Palace next door.
It's nicer than the Guanacaste, but they share the same beach.
It was a fun trip. All-inclusive so we ate and drank like kings.

Did some digging and the resort isn’t up to par. They give out day passes on the weekends. No thanks!
I guess my wife is considered boujee because we can afford to live in a nice place with good schools and low crime. #priorities!

Yes mentioned it in the OP, The Westin Conchal but dates aren’t available.
Pain in the arse these resorts, we have 3 kids and won’t allow you to stay in a normal room. My kids will make a pallet of blankets and sleep on the floor with no problem but they force you to stay in the junior suites/family suites which has much less availability and doubles/triples the price.

Go anywhere on Peninsula papagayo, everything is very nice but not all inclusive.

A shame it is booked, nice place. Any reason it needs to be all inclusive? We stayed in Tamarindo on the beach. And walked out the door and restaurants everywhere. Even pizza, and it was really good pizza. Every restaurant we ate in was good. It never felt unsafe like we needed to be contained. It’s been 8 1/2 years, but I think Tamarindo is in Guanacaste, or a very short van ride from Conchal Beach.

Same here, went Mardi Gras in 2023, place was packed with Canadians
