Since we are all fixated on sources...Have always wondered who was Herbstreit's source when he said Miles to Michigan? Did Michigan really want Les?

Miles was going to Michigan then lucked into the BCSNCG and opted to stay.

It was a big fricking deal at the time. It was the biggest story in college football because there was a chance we could make the BCSNCG.
IIRC he had a handshake deal with them but didn’t want it leaked He called Jon Tenuta to be his DC (he was a rumored replacement for Pelini when Nebraska hired him) and Tenuta leaked it to Herbie.
Miles was pissed it broke before the game and felt he had to make it right with the team.
I can’t remember when chronically but LSU countered Michigan’s offer
