Depends on how the legislature wrote the state law.

With enough signatures Missouri can make it a state initiative. The amendment wouldn’t be voted on until the fall of 2026, so if the amendment passes the map wouldn’t take effect until 2028.

The democrats have a good system to easily get enough legit signatures for it to be put on the 2026 ballot.

They only need around 18,000 signatures from each district and they will try to get at least double the amount needed. That means the new congressional map won’t take effect in Missouri until 2028 if the map passes.

The legalization of marijuana got over 385,000 and the abortion initiative got over 380,000. They only need 108,000

Hurry up with the racial districting case and the rest of this will be less impactfull.
