My kid asked for a Nintendo to play Mario Kart. I’m not sure which is the correct or current Nintendo the kids are playing these days. Is it a Switch 2? Does that play on the tv? Back in my day it was just the old school plug into the tv/cartridge kind. What’s the most popular or current, I guess?

Yes. You can play handheld or hook to your TV. My 6 year old only plays in handheld.

Switch 2 is the newest console from Nintendo.

switch 2 is the latest but it is stupid expensive. Getting a used switch might be a better idea until you get an idea of how much use it will actually get. You'll also need the yearly nintendo subscription which is like $25/yr.

I second NotSince98's suggestion. Basically, the Switch can be plugged into a TV via a dock or played as a handheld. The Nintendo Switch Lite cannot be docked to a TV, so pay attention.

When you break out, check out the Nintendo Switch Online section. It has all the original NES, SuperNES games. Super Mario 1,2,3 and more. Zelda, Donkey Kong. It’s awesome. You might not let your kids have a turn

Facts. When you run across an arcade game you last played in 1987, the nostalgia hits hard.
