They wager on the post…over/under on upvotes/downvotes, props on number of comments, etc…I imagine there is a small ring of them and they try to one up each other. I think the same goes for other posters who are college age but for them it is probably a drinking game as opposed to financial wagers. They are here for their own entertainment

Interesting theory. It’s plausible. And now more likely since you’ve given every troll on the board a new idea.

What if it is all the same guy writing fan fiction in his mom's basement from 4 different alters.

Maybe

I tend to think people want to be first to announce it and feel important

Certianly some come and fabricate, but a select few have a post history that gives them some credibility

Some credibility has been tarnished by "last minute curve balls"...that I think are probably legit

"we had him until we didn't"

Examples are hiring Jimbo, Riley, and Herman...

we probably were set to hire them and then a few things changed and it was undone very quickly

These are life changing decisions... families, children, other coaches are impacted. It's more than just money or a raise.

People like Kiffin are already wealthy, he could easily retire today and live out a great life.

Being paid top dollar is a sign of respect and "we need you"

Asking for NIL is part of the "helping your coach be successful"
