First, I don’t care how another country operates within its borders. As long as there’s no genocide or abhorrent human rights violations, do your thing.
The Saudis are a regional power, they have a strong military (relative to rest of the world), and they are a traditional/conservative culture. They don’t give a frick about woke ideology and they hate globalism. These are the types of countries we should be aligning with moving forward.
Obviously, this assumes they hold up their end of the bargain as an ally and stand up against terrorism, but I genuinely think MBS and the Saudis hate the terrorists too. After all, they’re bad for business.

You’d be wrong. They hate their religious opposition terrorists just not their own.
MBS wields a big sword in the country though relative to the religious leaders of country.

In the 40's, the King of Saud was riding a camel, also known as "camel jockeying", with his national treasury hangin off the camel in a sack cloth. In the 50's, the King nationalized the Saudi oil and the NYT forced Eisenhower down from going to war to protect what we had built. People were very upset!!
Soon, the "petro-dollar" was born. What kind of world would it be if it had been aborted?
Of course we need to pump them up. We need our dollars back!!

What human rights violations do you consider abhorrent. Saudi is likely good for some on your list.

You don't think Saudi Arabia has an abhorrent human rights record?

The global oil trade built Saudia Arabia. If it wasn't for globalism the Saudis would be living in tents.

theres people on Twitter calling Mamdani a jihadist and saying hes linked to terrorist
then ignoring that we bring in a former terrorist, the now head of Syria and the Saudis a few weeks later into the White House
i dont give a shite, a beneficial relationship with Syria and Saudis stabilizes the middle east but that is funny

i wouldn’t judge a country based on a proxy war against dug-in rebels fighting on their turf. and i said relative - comparing them to Russia proves my point.

His form of terrorism is much, much worse …. It’s socialism and it can actually bring down a nation …

Uhhhh 9/11?
Saudi Arabia did not do 9/11. 15 of the hijackers were Saudi Arabian citizens, but they trained in Afghanistan for a terrorist group based out of Afghanistan. You can’t put that on the Saudi government.

If it wasn't for government money taken from someone else most democrats would be living on the street.

Where was the leader of that terrorist group from?
When Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar arrived in America who helped them find an apartment, co-signed their lease, and assisted them in setting up bank accounts?

honestly, not bad enough for me to say “no, we can’t be aligned with them”. that’s an incredibly soft way of thinking. i love America, but we’ve got our own track record. Not ashamed of it, it is what it is.

Of course, they participate in the global economy. I’m talking about the globalist mindset vs. defending your country’s sovereignty and culture.
