Whether ya'll get Kiffin or he stay's at UM, this has been a tremendous few days on the board, I've missed work deadlines and LSU is not even my team.
I might be legit depressed after this coaching search circus is over.

I relate the coaching change board to my first time riding in a Mardi Gras parade in downtown Nola on Mardi Gras day. Every Mardi Gras since then has been a dud.

Alright y’all… this is one of the more unexpected names I’ve heard during a coaching search, but the amount of calls and texts I’ve gotten today about it is too much to ignore.
I’ve had several people reach out over the last 24 hours — folks who don’t usually talk unless something real is happening — and they’re all pointing to the same surprising name:
Phil McKracken is emerging as the next head football coach at LSU.
Here’s what I’m hearing:
• LSU has been quietly in communication with McKracken through back channels for a couple of weeks, but things have sped up dramatically in the last day.
• One source told me McKracken came into his interview ultra-prepared and absolutely blew the room away.
• Boosters apparently love his vision, especially his approach to recruiting and the way he wants to build the staff.
• The financials and contract structure are reportedly close to done — both sides are said to be “very comfortable.”
• There’s been a noticeable surge in movement around his camp today, which usually means things are hitting the final stretch.
From what I’m being told, LSU plans to announce the hire within the next 48 hours if the last details fall into place.
I know it’s not the name most people expected, but the folks who are contacting me have been on the money with big LSU decisions before. The level of confidence I’m hearing is honestly shocking.
Just passing it along… don’t be surprised if this becomes official sooner rather than later.

Nah. For the first 24 hours half will go radio silent and half will rain down “I told you dumb frickers!” (whether they really did or not).
Then it’ll be on to the next thing.
