I'm thinking about getting a round in at one of the WDW courses. It looks like I can play Lake Buena Vista or Disney Palm. Both are priced the same and have tee times open that I like. Any recommendations? Should I just go to MetroWest or some other Orlando area course?

I've never played any of them but I always read that Magnolia was the best one of the bunch, and then LBV after that.

Magnolia

That's not an option. They're closed for overseeding while I'm in the area.

Magnolia is best by far. Be prepared for slow golf though.

I wonder if the courses are nice enough make it worth dealing with the cost and slowness. I really don't care that it's Disney, but just assumed they would be nicer than most.

They’re like any resort course. It’s not as pristine as you’d think.

I’ve played them all. Frankly there are better options. I don’t know what condition Shingle creek is in currently, but if probably start looking there.

Do try Fantasy Fairways for mini golf though, is usually free with resort packages and tickets. For a golfer it’s a really good time compared to “putt putt”

Out of the Disney courses, Magnolia is the best.

That said, the Waldorf course is the best public course on Disney property. Orange County National, just outside of Disney, also has two fun tracks.

Magnolia is probably my Favorite, but if I had to chose between LBV and Palms it would be the Palms.

I played Dubsdread a few months back and loved it, especially for the price. It's the oldest course in Orlando and has a great history. Staff was great and course was a lot of fun, but not very challenging. The Tap Room was awesome. They just refurbished the driving range, but it wasn't complete when I was there.

I recommend playing Evermore (old Grand Cypress course) - on top of WDW - Disney Springs

They've really let Lake Buena Vista go which is a shame because it's my favorite track. Play Palm or Magnolia.

Also would recommend Celebration GC in that area.

That’s got my name written all over it!

I actually have no clue where to go still. This thread only gave me new options that I hadn’t considered before.

I’ve heard good things about it as well. Last time we were there we play Orange County National and Hawks Landing. Really enjoyed both

I just left. lot of courses in Orlando. If transportation is an issue though the non of them are bad courses just not pristine.

Man the Waldorf one kicked my arse. Long, straight and narrow. It was pretty damp so fairways did not roll out at all. Did not enjoy it.

Assuming you are staying in the Disney/Attraction area, there are plenty of better options than the Disney courses. Waldorf is the best course on property.

Orange County National (2 GREAT courses+short course)
Southern Dunes
Providence
Celebration
Champions Gate Resort (2 -18 hole courses)
Reunion Resort (3 courses)

For something different and elevation changes, try Clermont National and/or Legends Golf Club. Clermont National is pretty legit. Has Trackman driving range. Very penal if you leave the fairway. Dubsdread is really fun. Just opened a new Trackman driving range. It’s in Downtown area.

Eagle Creek is one of my favorites, but is on the east side of town. Great layout and wide open. Highly recommend. Might be worth the drive (not a bad one from Disney). TOLLS.

Unfortunately MetroWest is hit or miss. That is kinda the story for a lot of the courses around here. Falcon’s Fire was one of my favorites. It’s Iffy.
If you are on FaceBook, search for Orlando Golf Network. Lots of course condition updates.
