Feel like it’s an utter bitch move to kick a team out of a league over a trade and then refuse to give the dues back.

Why would you get kicked out of a league for a trade? Was it collusion?

I wouldn't kick anyone out because of a trade, but simply veto the trade.
If they don't get it or argue about it, simply don't invite them back.
ETA: What was the trade? If it was bad enough to get kicked out, I would assume you kicked 2 owners out. Takes 2 to tango...and to commit
