If it’s working directly for Entergy, that might still be ok.

I wouldn’t work for a contractor at Entergy. Specifically in IT, the situation has been bad at times.

entergy was my biggest customer for decades. You have to want to be part of a culture to work there…if buzzwords, programs, reporting, paperwork, homogeneity etc make you itchy the. Entergy is not for you. On the other hand they treat their employees as assets and spend a lot of money in support of employee welfare

the safety thing is a bit overboard unless you are in the field in which case it could save your life

I never had a customer spend money like Entergy does

Worked there for 16 years. Their management team is disconnected from ops.

My supervisor's wife runs the Michoud plant. She seems to love it but she does quiet well there. Not sure about the rank and file types

Like most other jobs...have a good boss and its fine. Have a shithead boss and life is miserable.

I worked for Entergy as a contractor and then as an employee. It is as good of an option you will get in New Orleans for large corp work.

That being said, it is not for everyone. If you haven’t worked in a corporate environment previously, it will be tough for you…unless you are fresh out of college, then you’ll be one of a few thousand wet behind the ears in support roles.

Entergy “New Orleans” is terrible…they are the entity that is constantly led by a DEI hire to be the face of the company and go before the board to justify rate hikes, outages etc. if you were more specific…Entergy Corp, enterprise, t&d, power gen, nuke, etc. you would get better feedback.

Again, if it’s truly Entergy New Orleans, I wouldn’t do it or would be looking to use it as a step up only.

I know her and your supervisor.

They aren’t bad people.

I was a software dev that sub-contracted for them for a few years. I didn't have to deal with leadership that much. My boss was awesome. Office culture was fine. This was pre-covid so may have changed. Office gym was great. I wonder if the downstairs BBQ place is still there. It was pretty good.
