Anybody have an idea where I might purchase a pomegranate tree in BR?

I’ve seen them at all the usual places but mostly in the springtime

I've grown wonderful, sweet, and another I can't recall, here in br

The wonderful is still in the ground 15 years later. One of these days i'll yank it out

Fruit are rare, small, and mildew long before edible

Just buy a pomegranate and plant some seeds….very easy to grow. Basically a cross between a bus and a vine. Good experiment, but mine don’t produce well at all.

I’ve seen them at Louisiana Nursery.

I'm surprised to see this comment. I know SELA is a little more humid/rainy but there are loads of 15ft pomegranates with fruit here in SW Georgia. Not sure the variety but they're in several yards in my neighborhood

The trees will grow but all the good cultivars reportedly have a tough time setting and keeping fruit. Wonderful does the best here but it's not considered one of the good varieties. I encourage anyone to try anything. I have a mango tree in my front yard. But I find that the toughest pushes for fruit trees in Louisiana are things that require a dry climate, only grow at elevation, or need high chill hours. Things like pomegranate, date palm, cherimoya, cherries, etc.
