That’s right. He wanted to go to Miami with Brady. And he wanted to then go to Denver with Russell Wilson.
His hand was forced to rebuild in Denver because Wilson was so terrible, but it definitely wasn’t in his plans. He’s not interested in rebuilding anything.

Payton loves a brand new mansion in a large metropolitan city. He's not high society by trade, but he's a wannabe. He chose a 7-figure gated-community on the Northshore over a grand Victorian mansion Uptown. Cosmopolitan creature comforts over character, culture (& crime). He was never really a New Orleanian. It was Drew Brees & an exclusive HC opportunity that kept him here for as long as he did.
Denver is closer to his type of bon vivant urbanite lifestyle, but he'd probably cream over a Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, or Miami location.

Loomis has displayed a hugh level of incompetence since Payton left.
Payton may have made some decisions, but I'm sure Loomis still made plenty of dumb ones.
