He is big and hits like it. I think he is playing with a hurt shoulder but still is slamming people. Wish he had him another year.

It would be great to have him for another year but in today’s transfer portal world players staying or leaving isn’t as big of a deal as it used to be.

He’s brought back that edge we’ve missed on the back end of the defense the last few years. He’s an alpha out there and super fun to watch him roam.

He’s been awesome. He and Delaune are the best we have.

Completely agree. He reminds me of the type of safeties we used to have.

Isn't it nice having a safety that hauls arse forward and makes solid tackles on running backs? Remember how painful it was watching Major Burns and Sage Ryan whiff left and right?

When he hits someone - even when they're 60lbs bigger than him - they fly 20ft every time.

What a waste of an outstanding secondary LSU had this year. There's about 5 guys in that secondary who are very good.

Nobody celebrates making a tackle after a 14 yard gain on 3rd and 8 like Major Burns did, though.

Meh. There ain’t a whole lot of AJ Haulceys in the transfer portal. There ain’t a whole lot of AJ Haulceys period. He’s one of my favorite Tigers ever. And it’s a shame that he’ll likely be relatively forgotten before too long as most fans want to forget and put this whole season behind us.

But that’s why I love him so much. No matter the score, no matter how many losses we pile up, no matter how banged up he is, dude only plays at 1 level—all out 100%.

I’ve gained even more admiration and respect for him and Delane the past few weeks because their level of play hasn’t dipped, despite having none of our team goals still possible.

I mean, that play Delane made yesterday on the sidelines was a perfect example of this. It was fricking incredible. Not just physically—not many corners could have closed that far that quickly—but mentally. Not many would have even really attempted. He had to recognize it, break, think he could get there, and fight like a motherfricker and keep fighting after they rolled on the ground out of bounds. It took his incredible physical ability, obviously, but also every single ounce of non-stop effort he had to prevent that catch. And what happened? Their really good kicker pushes a 48-yarder just right and they miss out on 3 points. We end up winning by 1.

If Delane stops fighting for that ball any sooner than he did, the catch counts, they get the 6-7 yards and keep the chains moving. Even if they throw 3 straight incomplete passes, they’re kicking a 41-yard FG instead of a 48, and he likely splits the uprights right down the middle.

Could we still have won? Sure. But the odds would have dropped significantly. That is the culture the next HC needs to bring back to LSU football. Whether it’s a mid-November game against the worst team in the conference in front of a quiet crowd in a half-filled Tiger Stadium with no championship stakes on the line, for the love of your fellow teammates and brothers, pride in the 3 letters on the front of your jersey, or even just personal pride in the one on you’re back, there is always something to play for. Every game, every drive, every snap, every matchup. Until every whistle.

Been trying to mention this on boards and YouTube media that Haulcy's play has gone terribly unnoticed with the surrounding drama. LSU media is so drowned in negativity they are missing the gold. He is the best at his position in an LSU jersey since Laundry. Best in country, All-American no doubt.
