I have a 4 post rogue monster rack.

Should I upgrade to the FM-6? I already have a standalone, badass, Rogue Lat Pulldown.

If I go with the FM-6, is that really going to give me full dual cable functionality or should I supplement with a Freemotion Dual Cable Cross?

Also, what’s the best GHR out there these days?

Mini-split so you aren't melting in the Summer.

You already have the main piece. I would get a nice dumbell set. Every muscle would then be workable with multiple exercises. Everything other piece of equipment is niche after these two things.

If you’re interested in grip training I can give great ideas for add-ons

If you already have a Monster Rack and a serious Rogue lat pulldown, I wouldn’t rush to upgrade just for the new model. The FM-6 is cool because it gives you integrated cables and saves space, but it’s not quite on the level of a Freemotion Dual Cable Cross. If you like lots of unilateral and rotational work, I’d say a dedicated dual cable gives you more freedom.

do not buy a functional trainer, much better off spending the money on voltra 1 or if you wanted to go cheaper the rayofi portable gym that has up to 66lbs on each. can use an extra pulley to double resistance if needed.

for GHR, you dont want the best because it will be too much. get a GHR/ reverse hyper combo or get a cheaper nice ghd from like get rxd and get the foldable RH.

i dont think you need a 6 post unless you need a place to store your weight

your biggest bang for the buck is going to be

1) voltra 1 but expensive AF
2) rayofi portable
3) dumbbells
4) sled
5) rings
6) adjustable weight vest
7) boxes for box squats, step ups, etc
8) bands
9) chains
10) sandbags

then machines

My wife has finally decided she wants to cancel her gym membership and workout at home but she doesnt like that we dont have a cable machine. I have a plate loaded pulley system and it's been fine for me but i get that its not very convenient to have to figure out how to set it up all the time for each exercise. So what to buy? She wants the ability to do both lat pulldowns/rows and also all the single arm cable bs from a functional trainer

I have a rep pr-4000 and don't have space for another tower. My concern with the Ares is price but also that it will get in the way of my spotter for bench press. Is this an issue? Any alternative suggestions?

How's it compare to a tonal? I tried someone's once and felt like it was dumb af honestly. Just doesn't feel right

Totally different

Feels like real weight

Can use it as a dynometer for isometrics

Can adjust eccentric and concentric so change the strength curve

Can add a second pull and anchor point to make it up to 400lbs

Can use it to measure velocity of the bar and height of jumps or distance of jumps

Can be used like a keiser for rotation training

Can be used similar to a kbox trainer

Soon as a rower too

Always coming out with software updates

And because the strength curve is electronically adjusted, it doesn’t have dead spots on things like leg curls and extensions like weight does without a good cam
