Hall of fame coaches each with multiple national championships. Neither of these guys would be a good hire. These guys coached with fear, they had all the power to make or break the player. They controlled playing time! Today with NIL and players have all the leverage. If you bench a kid making 2 million a season what are the boosters going to say? Boosters have more sway than ever before as schools are dependent on revenue for players, coaches salaries/ buyout money. Saban and Meyer would be ineffective in today’s game.

I like Brian Hartline wr coach OSU. He is the best recruiter/ developer in the game today. He is a young guy amd his stock will really explode if osu wins its second NC.

At the rate the governor and LSU are going with this shite show, they're going to have to drastically expand their candidate list and beg someone to take this job.

Not a single booster on the planet as more say than Nick Saban. This is silly.

Hartline has basically just purchased 2-3 top 5 WR every year for the last 5 years.

He was promoted to OC and promptly had his play calling duties stripped within weeks. LSU is not hiring a 38 year old glorified position coach as their head coach.

Even if he was a great candidate, the 5 years he spent on the dolphins are the only 5 years he's spent outside of Ohio in his entire life. He's not coming here.

Hartline will probably get a HC spot at somewhere like Maryland or equivalent. I wonder if chip kelly would do better now with the portal and not recruit so much. Matt Patricia I would expect to get a bigger school HC job this year. If were Arkansas or possiblyt auburn id be at least reaching out to kelly or patricia

Chip Kelly, does not like being a head coach in college. Like the old school coaches, he does want any part of today's landscape of college football as a head coach.
