In a hypothetical situation where the B1G and SEC poach the ACC and Big 12…could we ever see a conference like this form?? I think this conference would be on par with the remaining Big 12, PAC, AAC, MWC, SBC…

AMERICAN METRO CONFERENCE:

East:

Cincinnati (7-2)
Louisville (7-2)
Pittsburgh (7-2)
Buffalo (5-4)
Toledo (5-4)
Syracuse (3-7)
Boston College (1-9)

West:

Memphis (8-2)
Houston (8-2)
San Diego St (7-2)
Boise St (6-3)
Fresno St (6-3)
San Jose St (3-6)
Tulsa (2-7)

Good quality football programs with a lot of recent success. Parity. There would be some great natural regional rivalries. If the dominos fall just right in the next round of conference realignment…could this work?

Just poach who you want and the rest of CFB goes back to what it used to be. Call it BIGSEC

Well Memphis and that side of the conference are getting fricked with travel why are you including Toledo and why are you including Tulsa

And why would Houston drop down a level I mean they're competing at the Big 12 level

You didn’t read…at all!!! I said in a situation where the B1G and SEC poach the ACC…AND Big 12. If the SEC were to poach Texas Tech, Kansas etc in the next round…would the Big 12 really be that much better than this conference???. Be honest…

If the Big Ten and SEC were gonna poach more they’d have done so already

Why are Boise, SD, and Fresno leaving the Pac 12 in your scenario?

B1G (18 members) will add 6 more schools to get to 24.
SEC (16 members) will add 8 schools to get to 24.

CFP Top 48

B1G Additions - Notre Dame, Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, Florida St & Miami

SEC Additions - Clemson, Ga Tech, NC State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Kansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St.

I believe this will happen in the next 5-10 years. Clemson and Florida St want out of the ACC like yesterday. Next round is coming soon.

B1G East:

Penn St
Rutgers
Maryland
Virginia
North Carolina
Duke
Florida St
Miami

B1G Central:

Ohio St
Indiana
Michigan
Notre Dame
Illinois
Michigan St
Purdue
Northwestern

B1G West:

Oregon
USC
UCLA
Washington
Iowa
Nebraska
Minnesota
Wisconsin

I can see this coming from a mile away!!! The B1G new media deal with CBS, Fox and NBC has a built in escalator that allows for future expansion. It’s literally built into the contract.

This brings me back to my OP…in THIS hypothetical…
