Why hasn’t Williams not been starting at RT?

Even with his limited play up to Saturday, he seemed much more serviceable than our previous starter? With more experience, it looks like he could grow into a solid RT…. thoughts?

Agree. Lack of a vision from both Kelly and perhaps OL coach. Some players are better in game than in practice.

I wish NIL money payouts would be published for the whole roster. It always falls back to follow the money. I believe some personnel decisions were based off of NIL investments.

It sure seems like promises were made around playing time in the BK era.

Ory Williams PFF Grade vs. Bama = 54.9
Weston Davis PFF Grade vs. Bama = 44.9

This seems like an easy decision here

Davis has been AWFUL all season long

Watch the game and follow #77. Seemed much better than Davis has been all season... Big body, who moved fairly well.

I know development is a real thing however, I feel like it would take a minor miracle for Weston Davis to progress into a serviceable SEC tackle at any point

I thought they made a mistake when they called #77 for a false start. I didn’t even know we had a #77. He is a big ole dude

ETA: it’s worth noting that Curne started at RT vs Ole Miss when Davis was out. It seems like theyve shuffled some things around

Have to think next season looks like this preseason
LT: Adams
LG: portal? Davis?
C: Echols
RG: Curne
RT: Williams

I agree that Curne is a Guard, not a tackle. Curne and Williams on the Right side would be interesting!

That would be a BIG right side of the line. Should be easy to run behind.

Davis was a 5* based on his athletic ability and length. It seems the lack of development doomed him. I could see him transfer, but I wouldn't mind seeing how he looks after an offseason with a new staff. (Assuming LSU is cleaning house - Frank on offense.)
