LSU womens soccer has gotten hot at the right time. They look to contend for their first SEC championship as they will play the winner of Vandy vs Georgia.

Bracket

A red card was issued in the 1st half against MSU for a foul in the box. MSU is now a lady down.

They actually won the SEC championship in 2018. If they win today, it will be their 2nd time in the finale.

I’ll give Woodward this: besides the volleyball coach he absolutely nailed every non revenue sport. Amazing what the soccer and swim coaches do with their resources.

ETA: also men’s tennis coach is a bit of a bust but the women are fantastic

Can anyone provide a synopsis of this team? I’ve watched a couple of games during the season-ending run. It seems to be a senior-laden team. Is this a one-and-done run?

They are in for the third time actually. Tied but lost on penalty kicks the first time in 2011 I believe.
