the whole of the LSU football team had a season that tested their mettle...

the play calling on both sides of the ball was shocking... from 1st quarter through overtime...

the coaches lost the team... and found them for the bowl game...

this team had much better talent than 8 - 5... should have gone 10 - 3... losses to georgia, florida and alabama

Put away Lee, and put away the loss to Alabama. Also, it's pretty hard to shite the bed if you're never allowed to lie in it. And the bed wasn't cleared for Jefferson until it was too late. His performance once he got the chance isn't evidence enough for you? I have nothing against Lee personally, he obviously has big-time tools. I just don't know that he'll ever be a quality craftsmen.

only two games last season where we were flat out beat were OM and Fla.

I think if we played bama 10 times we win 5.
UGA 10 times we may win 2-3.
FLA zero
unfortunatly OM, once maybe twice.
ARK, we take 8-9 outa 10.

A bunch of stuff contributed to the losses, IMO we will be a much improved football team in 2009.

Jefferson is going and so is Lee because they are starting the walk on. Shep is going because he will not ride the pine. Garrett is going with Shep. We will still have RR to fill in if need be.

I messed up and tried to correct the thread... but it's spinning out of control.

If anyone in their right mind thinks that J.J., or J.L., for that matter, should transfer... put the reefer down and watch music videos.

Sorry, but I don't think Jarrett Lee will ever start another football game at LSU unless JJ gets injured. Then, you might see Shep start. It was obvious that JL did well in practice, but when he got into the game, he floundered. That kid probably has some serious psychological problems now because of what happened to him last season. Especially with everyone dogging him everywhere he went.

I don't disagree... but unless JJ gets injured... is a big unless... and certainly no reason for a kid to transfer if he is a competitor.

I've said many times, J.J. should have been starting long before he did... but we still might need J.L. down the road and he might have a chance to redeem himself in a backup role.

Just don't be too quick to flush him going forward.

You throw one pick 6 and people will forgive you and toss it up to being a freshman. You throw 7, including one to TROY(!!!!) and there's some psychological damage to blame.

I hear you. That's what I thought last year. It was very difficult for me to defend our playing him, much less starting him after, oh say, #4.

I'm just saying... it's a new year... a lot can happen. Peace.

No reason not to expect Lee to improve next year. But I don't think he'll see much playing time unless Jefferson gets hurt or struggles himself.

Every post on this thread has been made and debunked 5-6 times elsewhere.

Everybody has an opinion who will lead the Tiger offense next season, myself included.

None of us knows shite.

you sir, are stupid

The Troy game. The 10th of our 12 scheduled games, JJ came in for 4 series. He was 1 for 6 for a grand total of 5 yds.

He was SO BAD, that Miles had NO CHOICE but to put Lee back into the game. Yet based on these FACTS, you wanted JJ to start earlier.

SHEESH, so much stupidity on the Rant.

Yeah. He definitely should have been playing more, and he should have been given the chance to start earlier. If you don't see that, even with hindsight, I sure can't educate you, nor will I try.

Based on Miles knowing Hatch would be injured twice, and the need to redshirt JJ wasnt a possibility? Because Miles has a crystal ball? Exactly which earlier games should JJ have gotten playing time in?

The Ap St & N. Tx games, where the QB that had already redshirted was getting all the available snaps, because he needed them?

Maybe the Aub, Moo St, and SC games where the team clawed its way to victory, and your suddenly new #1 QB was needing his own reps?

Perhaps Fla or Ga or Bama games, against #1 ranked teams. Yeah thats the time to throw the new guy in, in the SEC.

Which leaves only the 8th game of the year (Tulane) as the first realistic time to put in a true freshman at QB. Is that enough playing time to decide on JJ being "the man?"

Miles played the cards he was dealt, including the RP card. Lee was disappointing, but LSU got ZERO help from its much touted defense, so Lee nor JJ was going to succeed last year.

I too, was disappointed in the defense. But you must admit, JL put the defense on its heals very early in a lot of games.
