Why is the industrial sector so overlooked by investors?

Seems like tech, AI and financials are all that’s really ever discussed lately.

Anyone here bullish on industrial stocks and/or ETFs?

Depends. It's the economy expanding or contracting?

TIFWIW but ISM PMI indicates accelerating contraction and we’ve been contracting for 8 straight months. Not pretty at all in the industrial sector and I think we have a little bit of pain left IMO

Because it’s not mysterious (almost magical) like tech and can’t be propped up for years on end with promises of outlandish future growth.

Industry also requires a lot more capital to build the infrastructure than tech (pre-AI) and other IP dependent businesses. It’s just not possible to get those outsized earnings multiples when you’ve got so much overhead.

If you would follow stock talk on X you would see a lot of great industrial names.
I've mentioned FLS here recently.
Did I not make a thread on HII? Is a ship builder not industrial?

Look into ROG and NOVT too.

Because industrials and manufacturing are real, with real ops/production and real numbers.

Much more difficult to manipulate on paper.

It’s much easier to find paper gains in the other sectors you mentioned.

Industrials also require significant CAPEX which makes it harder to achieve paper multiples, etc.

Yes, we're about to go through an economic expansion soon despite what all the naysers and doomers you hear about on TV are saying.

Paul needs to get him an X account, but I have a feeling he’s still rocking a compaq or gateway.
