Frank Wilson said today that LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker has asked for and will be granted “more realistic looks” in practice and the team will simulate game-like scenarios – in an attempt to get the defense more ready to play on Saturday.

That this wasn’t … already happening is eye-opening.

Brian Kelly is a terrorist and just used us as a retirement package. No care whatsoever

I’m sure it’s true. BK was running a lazy script.

That's not surprising, it's why they look soft and unprepared all the time. That bum was holding slumber parties instead of actual practice.

You are correct in that it is eye- opening if this was indeed the case. But it doesn’t seem to account for the fact that the defense didn’t make second half adjustments against A&M and their highly mobile QB. They got the look in the first half and kept it close, mostly due to the Aggies getting in their own way.

You make more money by letting the cat out of the bag in the middle of your contract by being horrible. It’s a strategy.

You coach 4 years and make an extra 53 million, you’ve averaged 25 million a year if the contract is all guaranteed.

Thats why Landry Spoke Up.

thats not uncommon to go light contact during the season. I can promise you we aren't the only school that doesn't have live practice sessions, during the season.

that being said ,it may be a good idea to get some more physicality out of practice. especially with the week off and the fact that were playing a historically physical opponent

What he asked for, at least the way I heard it, was more time spent on the defensive-focused part of practice. Not that they had to be more realistic, just that they needed more reps with a little more variability on plays they were defending against.

If he's asking Frank, though, to me that either means he was asking Kelly and not getting it, or he was sure asking was pointless.
