Judge bars unsupervised contact between Mayor Cantrell and Jeffrey Vappie

The judge did Vappie a favor.

The ruling Friday from U.S. Magistrate Judge Donna Phillips Currault amended Vappie's bond conditions. It came in response to a request from federal prosecutors who argued that Cantrell and Vappie, her former police bodyguard and alleged paramour, might continue "colluding" as they await a trial next year.

Could the judge still bar contact if Jeffrey put a ring on it?
And wouldn’t that complicate the case in which they could talk to each other and their spousal communications would be privileged? It also wouldn’t bar the court from forcing them to testify against each other because their crimes were committed before they were married.
