I have been a fisherman all my life and have had multiple bass boats. But, due to buying son a truck (and insurance!!) I had to sell said boat. I recently purchased a peddle kayak and looking for places to launch and fish for trout and reds in Calcasieu lake. Thanks and any help much appreciated.

In the fall/winter (now) you can catch them up in Prien Lake. There is a nice launch there for a yak

1. Intracoastal Park at the foot of Ellender bridge
2. End of Devall Rd in Hackberry
3. Spicer Hughes Marina
4. Dugas Landing at the end of Joe Dugas Rd in Hackberry
5. Hog Island Gully and West Cove Boat Ramp, but I believe those are closed this time of year.
6. Calcasieu Point

3. Spicer Hughes Marina
I've had some fun in that little piece of marsh between the marina and the channel. Not very many people stop in there.

Stay out of the short cut, when the tide is high enough we drive real boats through it.
Please make sure you can be seen(think hunter orange).
