With some Saban smoke in the rumor sphere a contrast between him and BK

The problem for BK is at this point in his career I would think he would know how to drive young men to compete at the highest level.
He has had 30-35 years as a head coach and he still has no clue why he is 5-14 vs Top 10 teams.
Pick up a book man, study some of the greats, your philosophy is fine for a good football team for the most part but never elite.

And that’s the issue with BK. He’s been just successful enough to justify his methods even though there has been a hard cap ceiling. If he had failed harder when younger maybe he’d be more open to trying something different. But he was always a good coach just me truly great but his ego convinced him that he is great

That's not only a contrast between those two guys, but a contrast between a lot of fans who get mad when any of us critique performance after a win, and people who just call it like it is.
Anyone should be able to know the difference between winning, because you were fortunate you played a bad team, and actually playing well enough to compete with good teams. Saban could say it out loud, but fans just get bashed by other fans for speaking the obvious.

And what’s funny is back then Nick got some heat with his frustrations at times because we as fans were just happy to be winning again.
We couldn’t quite understand why he was so upset all the time.
Here we are 25 years later and now we completely understand what he was saying.

Honestly BK truly lost me with that presser. I was at a point where I wasn't blaming fans for criticizing him but I wasn't personally ready to bail on him yet. And even though we were undefeated at that juncture still I knew there were glaring issues that needed to be addressed when we played our tougher opponents, and to hear him say that just really struck a chord with me that soured me on him for good.
Yeah, LSU fans and media members are "spoiled". And because we're "spoiled" we've seen what championship teams look like and the team we were seeing was not that. And we were told this was a championship caliber team. So god forbid we ask what the problem is, even if the losses hadn't happened yet. BK was never proactive at any point in this tenure. Problems would arise, he'd let them linger until it costed us, then he'd fix it, and then another issue would arise, and then would only get it fixed when the damage was done. And the cycle continued. Zero foresight, even when it was painfully evident. It was at that point I just knew he wasn't going to work out here. Then he just happened to lose 3/4 games because all he's ever been here is reactive. Never proactive.
