I posted this the other day. Today I watched Andrew Whitworth tell fitz almost the same thing.
Like it not, the reality of college football is paid players with annual free agency. The old models will not work. Less will be spent on facilities and coaches and more will be spent on players. Think minor league baseball, D League, or NFL jr.
LSU needs a football general manager who hires the coaches and has final say on taking players and how much they are paid.
That GM needs to have a vision and build a staff and players around it. Basically a very hands on Football AD.
They need to know how to evaluate and motivate coaches and players and build the support structure for success. I think Nick Saban may be that guy.

Everyone saw the Landry/Woodward stuff coming. Woodward has a chance to survive if he cashes in every favor, but it still would be unlikely.
As to your point, I absolutely love the idea of Saban as HC for 2-4 years and transitioning to LSU AD (basically just fundraising and delegating). I know, 73, about to be 74, bob loblaw. Keeping Austin Thomas as GM, Saban as coach for a couple of years and then AD...
Is it 4:20 somewhere?

He makes $15mill/yr to work 6 months…
How much you think ADs make? $1.5-2mill/yr
Some Y’all are acting like something that rhymes with retards…

Saban is a football coach!
If he wanted to go the AD route he would have instead of being on ESPN College Gameday
He will never be AD
Stop with this

Who in the hell in their 70s would want that stress? Especially a very rich one.
