Is the LEAST concerning?
No HC experience at the P4 level?
Great coordinator but never was a head coach?
Winning percentage is not overwhelming at current or previous school (or NFL)?
May not be a cultural fit?
Up and age and may not connect or bring the energy?
Average at best record against top 10 teams?
No particular wizardry in offense or defense?
Won big in the past but may no longer have the “it” factor?

What formula did we use to find nick saban? There has to be one out there that isnt a big name hire yet that we dont have to throw a ton of money at.

I'm not sure about that. Maybe well known in the coaching and AD community but most fans didn't know much about him at all.

After this, having all the energy and fun sucked out of LSU football, really just a few things:
-Strong X’s and O’s knowledge on one side of the ball
- Has shown to be able to command a locker room and establish mutual trust and rapport with his players.

Agree. In fact, I specifically remember fans expressing concern that Saban was an average coach at best (at that point) who was only getting a look because his MSU team upset Ohio State. Folks also questioned "this guy coming down from the north".

He was the coach of a P5 top 10 team, had pulled off top 5 upsets, had NFL experience, and was linked to NFL jobs.
People confuse him not being expected at LSU to not being a known coach.
