Last two coaching cycles for LSU….

LSU was played by agents for the “best” candidates in their past two cycles:
2016: Tom Herman was the can’t miss guy. His agent played us to get a bigger deal at Texas.
2021: Lincoln Riley was the guy. All the rumors made LSU the match until USC gave a ridiculous offer.
These guys were offensive gurus who were can’t miss gets. In retrospect, I’m glad LSU didn’t get either. All that to say, Kiffin’s agent is going to leverage the heck out of LSU to get a record contract from someone ( Ole Miss, Florida, or LSU). Considering that, I’d rather pass on Lane. Lots of coaches out there who are able to win at LSU.

If you’re LSU, you literally make Kiffin hate money before being the HC at any other school. Make him the highest paid coach in CFB for 5 years. Whatever that takes.

I want a young hotshot. Cheaper so there's more booster money for NIL, and easier to buy out if it goes sideways.
