we cannot afford his buyout and its stupid to say so... the best we can hope for is him leaving for another job and that aint happening unless its Penn State because he is from the Northeast... had a friend call me and say kiffen to LSU.... LSU isnt even open, nor will it become open... its stupid..

Finally a realistic post. If I have to see another Saban to LSU thread on the first page I'm going to lose my mind. All I'm seeing is people rooting against LSU and hoping we lose this weekend so they can victory lap about what a bad coach BK is. Its embarrassing.

The offset language in the contract makes it a greater than 0% possibility. LSU could use it as leverage to negotiate a lower lump sum buyout or continue paying the buyout monthly as stipulated forcing Kelly to make a "good-faith" effort to obtain employment. Have to imagine he could find a 2-3 million per year gig somewhere

The buyout is not lump sum, its due over the duration of the contract. It also includes offset language which would reduce the amount owed if Kelly were to get a another job in coaching or media.
If we lose out the remainder of the SEC slate... which is unlikely but at least possible. Hes getting shite canned.

The question is can LSU afford to KEEP Brian Kelly with the amount of $ that is being dumped into him and the football program yearly? $10M for him and an $18M budget for him to build a roster. 7-5 and there's almost zero question that he will be fired. There's too much $ being poured in to have a bad product on the field. It's that simple.

SW has let the basketball team just completely implode because McMahon was his pick. He's going to do the same with BK. SW isn't firing BK this year.
