I don’t think Kelly is “hungry” enough to fulfill his career with a national championship. I’m not taking anything away from his career as a whole because it is impressive and will most likely be in the HOF. However, I truly believe LSU’s next HC needs to be young and therefore extremely hungry. Kelly is so close to retirement and if you’ve ever worked in any industry with someone who’s close to retirement, you’ll know there’s a big drop-off in work ethic and care anymore for their profession. Hopefully LSU can find the money to get rid of BK and start over soon. Don’t think Kelly will get it done.

Do we even have a clue what to hire at LSU with this admin? Besides a name we can sell to fans?

If we poach a Sunbelt guy, the buyout will be a lot less. And in the NIL era the right hire brings us back quickly.

Lots of young and hungry guys. Picking the right one is always such a crapshoot. What, 2 or 3 out of 100 will hit at the rate you want? And timing plays such a HUGE and underrated role in coaching changes.

Lea isn’t going anywhere. Vandy is his school. Grew up as a kid loving them despite them being terrible. Played for them.

This is his dream job. And Vandy has money. So now they will invest bc of him.

Has to be, we won’t be able to afford a proven coach.

That’s right. That’s why I don’t subscribe to “we need X type of coach”

Probably. But there was no way we were shitcanning Orgeron 2 years removed from fielding the greatest team in college football history to hire Lane Kiffin. Woody couldn’t have sold that. Wooody wouldn’t have wanted to sell that.

I do think its gonna have to be a economic type hire. We're gonna have plenty in this dumpster fire.

What? Hey, rich boosters who donated millions to hire Kelly. And millions more to get our NIL fixed. We need you to donate even more millions to get us out of the frick ups you paid for that we convinced you would work. So we can make “an economic type hire,” and gamble on a high risk/maybe high reward guy. You in?

Rich boosters don’t become rich boosters making stupid decisions like that.
