It appears to be an interesting find.

You should be able to find some previous threads on it as well as on what seems to be it's most notable competitor, Archer.

I’ve dabbled in both but I’ve stuck with Archer. Mainly because of its partnership with Palantir, which is my golden dome... I mean golden child right now.

Joby has seen bigger jumps in SP than Archer, but Archer’s had a solid few weeks of its own.

This whole air taxi (The Jetsons-esque) hype is a tricky one to play. If you’re interested, dig a bit deeper into both companies and either go all in on one or spread your risk across the two. Or if you find any other similar companies, share the knowledge.

Good Luck.

eta -- here are some notes I've gathered (Archer heavy)

quote:

*The FAA has initiated programs to fast-track electric air taxi testing in U.S. cities, lowering regulatory friction.

*Archer (and Joby) have joined the White House’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) to test commercial air taxi operations in select localities, linking them formally with regulators and community pilots.

*Archer has teamed with Stellantis (for manufacturing), United Airlines (for route development / infrastructure), and other aerospace names, which can help with scale, credibility, and market access.

*Archer’s “Midnight” aircraft recently completed a ~55-mile piloted flight (31 minutes at >126 mph) — its longest yet. That’s a strong validation of its performance envelope.

*Joby has backing from Toyota, Uber, Delta (and others) which help with capital, manufacturing knowledge, distribution / ride-share integration, and credibility.

*Joby is seen by many as farther along in the FAA certification path compared to peers.

I think once either of these companies starts generating meaningful revenue, both could see a major jump in valuation. The one that reports first will probably get the bigger short-term spike, while the other might dip temporarily. But if the broader industry proves itself, there’s a good chance both end up doing well over time.

Fake company the future will never happen

Technology has only gotten worse since 2003 or so yet they keep releasing new stuff every year that breaks faster and is more intrusive than the year before. Now you can watch ads on your washing machine that breaks in a year

ChatGPT was invented in like 2004, they called it smarterchild and you could talk to it on aol instant messenger

I’ve invested in at least 2 miracle cures for testicular cancer companies over the years and the only treatment on the market is still “cut your balls off”

I get your skepticism, but I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss the possibilities. You say we’ll never have “flying cars,” but the U.S. sees roughly 45,000 flights a day. It’s hard to believe that a fair number of those flights couldn’t eventually be handled by the “flying cars” you’re writing off.

There’s definitely a long road ahead, but I don’t see this as a zero-sum or no-win play as of right now.

Remember when they were like “in the future you’ll be able to drive your car to work and come home and plug it in and no more scary hobos at the gas station!”

See how that turned out? It never really panned out and the people that got tricked into buying evs spend their time complaining about how they can’t plug in their car at the gas station and everywhere else they drive

Affordable private air transit to where you won’t have to get herded into the carnival cruise line of the sky? Never gonna happen

It’s the same as uber. “Regular people can drive you around in their regular cars so you don’t have to take a scary taxi!” Look at it now, it’s all mohammeds driving and half the cars smell like weed

The truth is they want you around the scary people. I’m not sure what the end goal is but it’s hard to say it isn’t there
