whoever will:

win every game by at least 30
fire the OC and DC midgame every week
bench the QB every other game
tell the band to play Neck
quits at the end of the season so we can get someone better

10 win regular seasons should be the standard. Kelly still yet to meet that target and why we have nothing to show for during his tenure yet

Also need him to fix the concessions and stop guns from spontaneously going off during tailgates.

This has only happened 8 times in the last 25 years and Les Miles had 6 of those.

I was trying to keep our standards realistic and you go off into fantasyland.

You raise a very important question. College football fans (LSU fans in particular) still need to come to terms with the massive increase in parity due to NIL, the portal, realignment, and everything else today.

Because of those changes, we may never see sustained dominance like Saban had at Bama ever again. It's not a reasonable expectation for any coach or program, and in fact it could lead schools to make rash self-destructive decisions (like Penn State may have just done with Franklin).

It doesn't mean we as fans can't expect excellence and consistency but we are setting ourselves up for a world of pain and perpetual disappointment if you think you're going to run the table every year.

I am neither a Kelly hater nor a defender but I'm just a Tiger fan who wants to enjoy the game without being miserable all the time.

I like to think we’re capable enough program to expect a higher standard than what Les miles set forth. Alabama
and Georgia do it practically every year, don’t think that’s too much to ask to at least have a playoff contending team every few years. Shouldn’t be at least

ETA we also have 3 NCs in the last 25 years, 2nd most so far this century. We’re capable of being an elite program with a standard of excellence

So something literally no LSU coach has ever did before?

Playoff runs every other year at least.

Les managed 10+ win seasons his first 6 of 8 years here. Is it really so difficult to believe no other coach could win consistently here?

Right, and you're saying we should expect an even higher standard than that.

So take the absolute peak of LSU football and we should expect even higher than that?

Especially in a time where we aren't a top 5 NIL type program and our fans can't even fill the stadium?

I was referring to his entire tenure.
Keep in mind Les was fired after 4 straight seasons of not winning 10 games… or in other words, for not meeting the standard he set at the beginning of his tenure

We’ve been in a hole ever since and outside of catching lighting in a bottle in 2019 we haven’t regained that standard. 0 10 win regular seasons since and I’m just saying i want a return to that standard. Point being if Les could do it (who gets shite on all the time here) why can’t we expect someone else to be capable?

I don't think we'll ever reach that level of consistency again.

There was a sweet spot in there where LSU was recruiting really well and keeping a lot of Louisiana kids, it helped that Saban hadn't really started rolling at Alabama.

Now we have Texas, Texas A&M, and other schools outbidding us, and we can't stack talent like we used to.

This leads to LSU having lower end top 10 talent and only putting together a really good team every 5 years or so.

that’s the disheartening part. Since the playoffs have begun we’ve only made 1 appearance. Georgia and Alabama are there every year against the same competition. Do I expect to be on even terms with those programs? No. But I expect to be the next tier where we’re making the playoffs every 2-3 years now that the SEC is going to put in 4 or 5 teams every year. 10+ win seasons is pretty much going to be the benchmark as far as getting in the playoff or being left out

I think it’s funny how some of yall think LSU doesn’t have the money to contend lol. LSU has WAY more money than what a lot of yall think they have. It’s just are they willing to put a lot of that money towards paying players or other things. From what I hear the amount of money that LSU brings in on a yearly basis, i promise you they could contend every year if they choose to.

Georgia and Alabama have had better coaches than us for the majority of the CFP era.

I don't know if DeBoer is drastically better than BK, but Bama still has the most talent in the country on paper.

Despite all of the emphasis last year, we're probably still outside of the top 5.
