Hello Tiger Fans,
My son is in his 2nd year of dental school at LSU. Some of my friends from Arizona & myself (5 in total) are coming out to the A&M game. It's all of our first games ever in Baton Rouge. A few of them are high school football coaches.

We have our tickets but want to get the full experience with LSU tailgating. Any suggestions on where to go would be fantastic and very helpful. I looked online to buy some pre-arranged tailgating tickets & it seems everything is sold out.

Thanks in advance for any help. Looking forward to this game & experience.

For all the advice you get, will you promise to come back and share your experience? Nobody ever does.

Don’t do that. It isn’t the experience you are seeking. Just walk around in your ASU gear by all the tailgates around campus with the pop up tents. Introduce yourself to some folks and tell them it’s your first time and want to know what all the fuss is about. You’ll get treated to some great food and booze for sure.

Avoid the north gate of campus near The Chimes apparently. But the Chimes restaurant is awesome and worth a stop

haha....sure. I've heard the environment is wild & I got a good laugh as I saw right after I posted this that one of the first topics I saw is "fix game day crime now". Makes it even more fascinating & exciting to get out there.

Would suggest sativa. You're gonna want a more energetic high when dodging bullets.

What is your opinion on Hennessy and shootouts?

If you’re a fan, you’re in luck.

You are going to get some good advice, and some terrible advice. A lot of people are here to try to be funny in front of random message board posters. I'll give you my 2 cents in a little bit when I settle down.

We are down in the Dirty T (Tucson, AZ). One of them just retired last year after going 14-0 and winning the state championship in 4A at Mica Mountain High School. The other one is currently the OC at Sunnyside High School (5A). He's catching a redeye Friday night after his game to join us for the festivities.

Things you want to experience as a first timer.

1- visit Mike's habitat
2- watch the players walk down victory hill before the game. Followed by the band coming down not long after.

If you will be there Friday, doing Chimes and Walk Ons isn't bad. Personally id do walk ons Friday, and then Chimes early Saturday. Chimes is right on campus, so you will be in the mix of everything.

Outside of that just, just grab some ice chest you are good leaving and walk around campus and soak it all in. Visit some tailgates and most people will be friendly and point you into areas around campus you might want to check out. Don't make plans to park yourself in one spot, and then just go in at game time. You will miss out on so much doing that.

You can also walk to the baseball field, if that interest you. And the PMac will be open before the game if you want to check that out. Just get there early and enjoy the experience. The people will take care of you.

Thanks, this is great. Much appreciated. We are juiced for this trip & to catch our 1st SEC game at LSU. Looks like we couldn't have picked a better matchup.

Don’t do it, lsu campus is essentially a BLM protest with less clothes

50% chance there will be a shooting on campus, probably 85 % chance of one near campus.

Parking and leaving are nightmares

Get there early and bring an ice chest with wheels that you wouldn’t mind losing. If you have offers to stop at tailgates prearranged from this post - show up. If not, introduce yourselves at any passing tailgate that has a large pot and you’ll be fed. The fact you have your own ice chest makes this even easier.

Get the list of events that’s posted by LSU ahead of the game and witness the team and band march down Victory Hill and/or go see them perform at the PMAC. If you don’t have a formal tailgate destination, you can eat and drink in front of the PMAC with various vendors and bar setups.

Prior to going in the game, leave your ice chest at one of the visited tailgates or hide your ice chest somewhere near where the cops park on the east side of the stadium and it’ll still likely be there after the game.

Have fun and Geaux Tigers.
