Nice town - My Mom and sister live there.
My request everytime I visit is 5D Cattle in Avinger.

Kitt’s cornbread sandwiches are WAY overrated- don’t waste your time.

Check out Haywood House. I’ve only been to the bar, but the restaurant looks nice, and I’ve heard it is good.
5D Cattle Company in Avinger, mentioned above, is a pretty cool steakhouse, but it’s 17 miles from Jefferson. If you go, make reservations. It’s a huge place, but it can be packed from opening time on, which is kind of crazy considering it’s in the middle of nowhere. Folks drive in from hours away. They have an outdoor bar area that features live music at times.
