Deer/pig hunt
Greensburg, LA
69 degrees, mostly clear with 7 mph NE wind.
Mankung xbow, 100 gr swhacker tipped 22” victory bolt

Watching a pile of rice bran on logging road between planted pines. Certainly feels better this morning and good luck to all out today.

I had some come around my camera yesterday at 10:55 am, first time in a while I've seen a group of does in the middle of the day.

Lock on. Beech tree.
Hot but feels better than yesterday.

Trying to redeem myself. Made a bad shot on a doe the other day and hit her in the shoulder. Decent penetration and blood. Tracked for over a mile then called a dog. Dog picked up the trail but couldn’t get the deer. I think she was still on her feet ~7 hours post shot. Haven’t lost a deer in probably 10-12 years so was pretty aggravated about it.

Had a few bucks around the last couple of days and have a good wind this morning, so I’m optimistic.

ETA. Just had a black coyote run through. No shot.

Watching a trail between a big bedding thicket and a creek. Have a real good 8 on camera that’s using the trail regularly.

Good luck. For you to go 10-12 yrs without losing one is amazingly successful.
