Any recs for a wifi extender for AT&T fiber?

I have the AT&T fiber router at my house. One part of the house has a pretty weak signal. We use the wifi for streaming and work, no special configs needed. I'm guessing a mesh network is the choice of many here, but I don't want to spend a few hundred bucks to extend to one spot.

You can get a set of Deco x55 for under $100 refurb or eBay. They are excellent if wired and will still solve your problem if not.
I picked up a 3 pack for like $35 on marketplace.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm looking at Orbi, but the cost makes me rethink it every time.

Don't do it. I got rid of an orbi 960 set to go back to x55 simply because x55 is better at almost everything, and actually everything when wired.
High end Orbis are also gigantic.

my problem is its going to hurt like frick to have to reconnect the 70 gabillion lightbulbs and shite all over again so i've stuck with hardwiring most everything i can in the house.

All of our 50 or so wireless things seem to reconnect just fine to new system if I use same SSID and PW. We use the IoT SSID 2.4 only and older encryption. The list of 20+ reserved IPs is my pain point because I just “manage” everything via DHCP. That 20 will probably turn into 50 when I finally get everything native and local on home assistant rather than a mix of cloud integrations.

It’s really hard to beat the eero mesh routers. Worth every penny in my experience.

What router are you using? The mesh extenders I use for my system are called GigaSpire u4hm.

I signed up for All-Fi Pro with AT&T with an extender and I'm pulling close to 1 gig/sec on wifi.

I currently have a nokia router it looks like. They are shipping me a new one. I called at&t to see if I could get my price down b/c it keeps creeping up. They dropped me $10/month plus tehy are going to stop billing me for my router.
Anyway, I bought the deco suggested earlier. It was only about $140 on prime day yesterday.
thanks all

NP ask you need anything.
You always want to disable wireless on the ATT. Then:
Deco just step by step from phone app.
2 options:
1. ATT goes in full pass through mode, no routing. Deco stays in default router mode.
2. ATT wireless is disabled but routing is still active. Deco should be switched to “access point” mode. Several features, mostly routing, will be unavailable but it still makes good coverage.

The router I have now doesn’t allow wifi to be disabled

I paid AT&T an extra $10 bucks a month and got three WiFi extenders. They work great. Worth the extra fee, I think.

That’ll work until the other comes in but will be a chore if you have lots of devices and have to move them to new ID. Can maybe move deco a few feet from other radio if possible also.

I got it setup. The AT&T wifi is active and can’t be disabled in this router either it seems. I plugged the deco into the router and my network is running off of it using the old ssid and password so the setup was painless. I’ll play with it more this weekend and double check myself on whether the router can have a pass though. But my speed tests and streaming are doing just fine as is.
