Kitchen Sink Faucet

Just moved into a newish home (5 years). We have a Blanco Empressa bridge faucet that looks quite nice, but it's leaking in the hose and getting worse daily. Tried to get a replacement from them but it's been over a month and they haven't shipped anything yet. Further research shows many people have issues with these which is crazy considering the price tag around $800.
Anyway, faucets are all over the place price wise. A similar Delta faucet will be around that same price. Are these things really worth that much? I searched an found a thread from two years ago with a few people saying to go Delta.

One of those things where they are worth it because people keep paying for them.
I do not have much to add to this thread but have spoken to 2 different plumbers and a few contractors about kitchen & bathroom upgrades. Every one of them have told me unsolicited

avoid buying from HD, Lowe's or Amazon, and go to actual supply houses for my fixtures. A lot of times, those faucets will be cheaper at HD, Lowe's and Amazon because they use cheaper parts and have a tendency to go out faster.

100% true, big box stores faucets are trash compared to actual plumbing supply stores. More plastic on the box store ones.

A leaky hose shouldn't = replacing the entire fixture.

I usually recommend Grohe now. Yes, they are very expensive but they just last forever. I've had terrible luck with Delta and Moen, even their upper range products so I don't recommend them anymore. Kraus too, used to be excellent but now shared with Delta.

I agree. However, shitty customer service where I've paid $60 for a new hose and haven't received anything in over a month... Couple that with this thing getting terrible reviews across the board. I'm considering a replacement.
I called Blanco again today and no answer. Put in a dispute with my CC for the charges.

Hasn’t this myth been debunked?

That's probably one good thing left about Delta, they do still have good customer service. Even if the faucet is years old, you aren't the original buyer, and have no idea what model it is you can talk to someone, send them a picture, and they'll tell you what you have and send a part without charge. Another plus is that parts are easy to come by too.

Awesome looking faucets. We have a Blanco in our kitchen too, although a different design.
I had trouble getting them to find replacement cartridges to replace leaky ones. They offered a free replacement, but a new style.
They were finally able to get me a replacement one when I found an alternative part number.
I know it'll be replaced one of these days. Its a shame as its a nice faucet otherwise.

We have mostly all Delta/Brizo fixtures in our house. Have had a couple of issues over the years, but never with the faucets. Any issues we’ve had were immediately replaced by Delta with very little effort on my end. I’d go with Delta/Brizo if I were building again tomorrow.

The thread from 2023 had folks claiming both ways.

Go buy one from each and study them, then tell me, 3 generation plumbing family here.
Not saying the box store faucets won't work but they aren't built like the ones from Coburns etc.

Are you saying faucets with the same model # between Coburns/TPW and HD/Lowes are built with different internals?

Typically the SKU # will differ slightly. plastic vs brass drain assy, thinner brass, cartridge assy typically has more plastic on it and/or the support frame, commercial grade finishes vs consumer grade. Majority of the time you can feel the difference in weight of the two when holding both faucets. If it's a rental I'd have no problem with the BB store, in my personal home I use those from a supply house.
