Rant MDs, treating an ab strain

If rest is the most cited guidance for treating an ab strain, it still doesn’t make sense why in the hell Nuss played against SLU or Tech.

It probably wasn't bad enough to require rest, and Nuss was probably adamant about playing. Players play through injuries all the time.
BK didn't really make a big deal about the ab strain and mentioned it casually after the Florida game...you never heard about it leading up to the Clemson game...we just knew about the knee issue, which was completely forgotten after we won.

Which I find weird considering at that point he was “already on the other side of it”. If they hid it up to that point, why even mention it?

Who knows… He didn't run last year and he's not running this year… He threw bad interceptions last year and he's doing it again this year… he's making the same mistakes this year as last year.
The main difference this year is the offensive line.

Did anyone suspect that Nuss had an ab injury after the Clemson win? The ab injury happened before the Clemson game. Would anyone have thought that Nuss was affected by an ab injury in the Clemson game? That was the closest game to when the injury occurred.

Sure. But what about the fact that his arm strength has seemingly decreased and he’s even more inaccurate than he was last year?

Ah yes. They were letting him run around doing handoffs but not throw the ball a single time because of his knee. Yes we only knew about the knee issue because they hid the ab injury. Brian Kelly has admitted this.

He wasn’t asked to make downfield throws so it wasn’t very noticeable. Do you think he just suddenly got a lot worse after the Clemson game for no reason?
I’m just not sure what theory you are getting at. You think the injury wasn’t bad enough to affect his play, so he has just regressed a ton?

We went to the Clemson game and several Tiger fans sitting around us were questioning if Nuss was injured, beyond the knee. Besides the reversed TD to Brown, he threw screens and shallow out routes the entire game and we were commenting why we weren't stretching the field with some of the fastest receivers in college football.
Kelly mentioned Clemson was playing two-high safeties, but $hit, defenses did that all last year, including the 4th down against Ole Miss when Nuss split the safeties with a laser to Anderson to tie the game.

Can't refute your first paragraph at all. What is the biggest difference is his play on 3rd down. 2024 vs 2025

That's the issue. Our HC couldn't see that Nuss was not 100% Nuss, and he kept putting him on the field when it was not neccesary to get a win. Rest was much more important in the big picture, but our HC apparently couldn't see the obvious, and couldn't make a decision on what is best for LSU's season going forward.

Nuss has been here for 5 yrs. He stayed here all that time and now he is in his final year getting ready for Sunday football. If he gets benched, his draft stock goes down. I hope the coaching staff is not so loyal to him at the expense of what’s best for winning. This S.C. game will answer that question. Hopefully, the OL can get a running game going and give Nuss the time to shine with dropping some dimes.
