If indeed BK is in the market for a new OL coach in the offseason one of the first calls he should make is to Eric Mateos. Don’t know if he will be retained by the new coach in Hogville but has done solid work at Ark, Baylor, BYU. Was on one of Orgerons staffs early on as TE coach I think. Just a thought…

No one should be considered until Kevin Mawae turns down the substantial offer made my LSU.

The one who has never been anything more than an Asst OL coach or a different one?

yep, that one. that HOF olinemen has forgotten more about oline play than our present coach. Coaching is about recruiting and teaching the players how to play the position, technique. No coach knows more about that than KM. Put him the living room with a top hs Olineman with his dad, and when they realize a HOFamer is telling them he knows what it takes to get to the NFL and he will teach the young man.
that is what is lacking at LSU and I believe KM is our best bet. He has enough experience coaching and playing, and I know one thing, LSU could certainly do a whole lot worse, and has for many many years.
I think he can do for our Oline what Williams, who has less coaching experience than KM, is doing for our Dline. Don't hole being a Tiger against him.

If he is hiring an experienced OC, let him pick his OL coach. If he is just in the market for an OL coach, try Pittman (he may not be interested) or Kevin Mawae if he is interested.
I doubt Petrino is pushing anyone out the door.
GA/TE coach under Miles, then Orgeron in 2016. Moved on in 2017.
The fact that Miles hired him is probably a better recommendation than O hiring him, IMO.

Kyle Williams is DT coach only. Peoples is DE coach. Coaching entire OL is another animal. Not totally against it and being a former Tiger has nothing to do with it. He might be fantastic. Just nothing to go off of either way.

Sam Pittman is the best OL coach in the country and available so make him say no first.

That seems to be working out pretty good for LSU, huh?
Mawae made the NFL Pro-Bowl EIGHT times. There's a lot of NFL OL experience there that oence Lots
If BK9.9 really gave a shite, Mawae coulda/woulda/shoulda been hired after the Ole Miss loss to finish the season.
