I am heading to Montana in January and will be in cold, snowy weather. I am guessing I need some sort of waterproof boot or shoe? Or a mid boot? Looking for something comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I should’ve also said something cost effective since I’ll only be using them for a week lol.

Researched and ordered some insulated Kamik Icebreakers the other day.

Replacing some helly-hansens where the rubber cracked at the seam in subzero temps.

Problem is knowing how good the sole grips on ice. Trial and error in that regard so we'll see.

If you’re gonna be around town like walking through Whitefish, any Danner hiking boot or any hiking boot with thinsulate will be fine.

If you’re gonna be walking around in snow and whatnot, buy a snow boot off of Amazon for cheap. You’ll be fine for a week or less.

Was in Jackson, Wyoming for a week two years ago. Single digit temps for the high. Snow almost every day. We wanted to do Yellowstone and Grand Teton differently than most and without any crowds. Was totally worth it.

Yellowstone sees approx 4.8mm people between the spring and summer months. We saw less than 3 dozen during multiple trips into the park.

Not sure what you’re planning, but rent the track vans to get in and then book a dogsled ride into Grand Teton. A lot of Iditarod dogs are kept there to stay in shape.

Absolutely beautifully desolate place.

Exactly what I was looking for. Will be in the glacier area. Thank you!

So I normally don’t drop over $1k on boots unless they are made from some exotic leather and I happen to like the pattern…mostly gators. Please educate me on these simple looking boots I must be missing something. Are they extremely warm? They say water resistant so I’m guessing my feet can still get wet? I just can’t understand the price point.

Got those Canadian cajun-reebok's in today.

Insulated so they are bulkier and heavier than helly-hansens. For $79 they seem like a good value. Will see how they do.
