The PGA of America has been reeling from its lack of response to behavior at Bethpage Black, which began as early as Friday morning when a small section of fans chanted, “(Expletive) you, Rory,” upon seeing Rory McIlroy’s image on a video screen from the practice range

It only got worse, with vulgar language directed at European players, video of a beer being slapped out of someone’s hand toward McIlroy’s wife, and a comedian hired to lead cheers on the first tee getting involved in the expletive-laden chant toward McIlroy.

“Rory might have been a target because of how good he is, but the entire European team should not have been subjected to that,” Sprague said on Golf Channel. “I feel badly and I plan on apologizing to them.” Rea also took heat for an awkward trophy presentation on Sunday in which he mentioned Europe had retained the cup, instead of winning it.

Screw the PGA I have zero love for them for moving the PGA championship from a Trump owned course

I thought that was Ryder Cup protocol

The PGA puts the event in NYC hoping for a rowdy, partisan crowd and, when they get it, apologizes. WTF did they expect.
Next time it's in America put it in Baton Rouge. At least the crowd will be gone after the 9th hole.

One thing I learned from the recent Ryder Cup debacle was that the PGA of America and their leadership has been a huge problem within Team USA.
There’s constantly a lot of back room politics surrounding the leadership of PGA of America. Each president serves only a two year term, and they have a huge amount of influence over the organization, including the Ryder Cup during their term.
Then another PGA politician takes over after two years, and has completely different vision and goals.
