I know there are lots of throw and grow products out there but does anyone have any experience with them.

I dont have any equipment but have access to land that has some fields that were recently bush hogged. What can i reasonably expect by throwing seed on hard ground with good sunlight .

Wheat, rye, and multiple other winter grasses will all germinate and grow in the back of a pickup truck, in caked up grease on a tractor, and in the ear of a 6 yr old boy. Just need some rain.

Do you have a four wheeler or side by side? Here is my set up where I do not have a tractor available. Mainly purchased this to get in a specific area in a creek bottom land area I hunt in Arkansas that my tractor cannot access. It did so well, when I purchased 80 acres a couple years ago (a ways away from where I store my tractor)...I saw a lot of deer sign on it...A guy paid me to bale the hay on the 80 and I wanted to plant a food plot just to see what the 80 acres may attract. Link is to the disc I purchased. Then pics of that first food plot on that 80 acres post hay being cut.

if it's recently bush hogged spin out some of the suggested seeds on this forum, then mow over it with your zero turn. spin out some fertilizer and you will have a plot. The later you wait for it to cool off the better off you will be.

Spray chemical or disc. Broadcast before a rain.

That’s good advice too.

Take a little hand pump sprayer and spray with generic 41% glyphosate. Come back later and broadcast a mix of winter rye, winter wheat, diakon radish, and red clover into that dead grass/weeds right before it rains. Make sure to seed a little heavy with the wheat and rye
