I wonder how much the HPV-X3 costs?
$10k… $50k…. more?

The speed of light is 300 million meters per second. That means light would be moving 15 meters per frame here. Which means that if you were flming something with a 200 feet panoramic view, you'd see light travel 50 feet every frame, and it'd take 4 frames I believe to travel 200 ft over 4 frames. You could replay it at 2 frames per second, and it'd take 2 seconds for light to travel 200 feet. Awesome. They should do a video on this.

You can rig it up all the way to 80 million frames per second if you go into Playback Speed!

Used to do a good bit of time-lapse, but this is way at the other extreme.
Can't imagine how they can get 20 million frames per second!

Possibly more. I know the phantoms get up to that much but don’t think the fps is nearly that high.

I wonder how much data storage a camera like that eats up just for a few seconds of footage. Must be massive.

Now, hit the gear icon/settings on the video controls and decrease the speed of the you tube video from normal to 0.25 speed.
Slow motion of epic slow motion.

I hope that they are wearing safety glasses as they watch the experiment.

The resolution looks pretty good so it must indeed be massive. The recording media must be a big array of some very fast memory. I'm in as much awe of the camera as the pictures it takes at 20m fps.
