Hearing protection?

I want to get some hearing protection to wear while I’m in the stand. Can anybody recommend some that will let me hear my surroundings and protect my hearing when taking a shot? Or is that even possible? Last couple times taking a shot my ears started ringing and it lasted a few days. Just trying to protect what I have left.
Thanks
Thanks

I dont hunt with a gun without walkers ear muffs anymore

Axil gs 2.0 ear buds is what I have.
Used a set of walkers active ear muffs, but they would always bump against the gun when looked down the scope. Would break the seal and end up with my right ear ringing.
I hear better/more detail with both options than I do with standard ear plugs.

I had in-ear walkers for a couple years. They were better than muffs, but a pain in the arse to clean. I ended up getting an ear infection one year from them. Muffs it is for me from now on.

Get a suppressor baw.
And some cheap foam plugs.

Supressor is way better than any electronic ear protection I’ve tried. But I like to use different guns so that’s not always an option. Rigid ear plugs work a lot of the time. You can throw them in pretty quick but won’t always have time for those quick shots.
ETA: I use axil gs 2.0 for duck hunting, but I don’t like them for deer or turkey hunting. I should also say that I haven’t tried any of the really high dollar options.

Was in the same boat. I have suppressors for the rifles but needed something when shooting the shotguns. Walkers has a buy one get one free promo for one of their muffs that blocks out the high decibel noises. Used them this past weekend and they’re kinda nice. I’m sure they have better options but they serve the purpose.

Depending upon your budget there are a lot of good options.
I use two different types that are made from a mold of the inside of your ear which an audiologist can do. I took that mold and had form fitting plugs made which work very well for shooting, I use them on the skeet/clays range and also shooting rifles.
Then for hunting where I want to hear my surroundings I use Wild Ears which took the same mold I used from above and made electronic hearing protection. I use that for both duck and deer hunting. I can easily talk to others in the blind and still be protected well.
As a 50 year old that has had constant tinnitus (ringing of the ears) for over 15 years they have been worth the investment. The form fitting ones were about $250, Wild Ears about $1000.
