Going to Pebble Beach with a group event in early October. Will be my first time going.

Any advice on things to do or see? Will be on a schedule but will have some free time.

Landing in San Francisco and driving to Pebble Beach.

Two Rounds of golf. One round at Spanish Bay and one at Pebble Beach links.

Staying at the Inn at Spanish Bay

-Big Sur is worth the drive. Pull over and walk a few of the trails and go down to a few of the beaches. The micro climates are wild.
-Carmel is a very unique town with a terrific food scene and high end shopping. The beach is a good place to relax and you can walk along part of the golf course.
-Carmel Valley wine tasting is a good option
-Supposedly the aquarium in Monterrey is world class, but we didn’t do that

Carmel is a cool city to drop in. By 9pm though everything is pretty dead. We had a good time at Sadie’s which is a local dive bar. Cash only.

My only advice honestly is to care less how you play. Enjoy the walk and the views. It is spectacular. Do not ride in a cart. Splurge for the caddie and enjoy every minute of that walk. The views really are amazing.

Play The Hay, pitch and putt designed by Tiger. Lot of fun. Incredible views.

If you can change your flight to Monterey, do it. Price difference may even out when you factor in the cost of getting from SFO to Pebble (+ the 2 hours of commute this will save you.)

I’d recommend Big Sur or Carmel before the aquarium. If there are no kids in your travel party, skip the aquarium.

Hops & Fog is a very nice lil brewery in Pacific Grove, great food too, if you want to get out of the Pebble bubble.

Ad Astra, kick-arse bakery in downtown Monterey.

Highly recommend the walk from Spanish Bay Inn down to the beach for a sunset.

Have fun!

My daughter(no pics) got married in Carmel Valley in October of ‘22 and we spent a week in the area prior to the wedding.

Day one we ate at a pub in Carmel and had one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten(and I’m a burger guy)

Thank you all for the input. Was an amazing trip!

Was with a large group for an event.

Will plan another trip at some point for sure.

My sister used to leave in Seaside and we'd frequent the Pebble Beach area. Did you eat at the Bench on the 18th hole? Really good food, reasonable prices, and epic view.

Yes! Not right after the round. But came back and were on patio in evening as sin was setting. Amazing views and sights!
