12 bucks for a year put on a card I going to cancel soon so I don't get jammed for $75 next year when I forget to cancel.

Most services you can cancel and they just don't bill you again at the end of the billing period. They don't just cut you off.
I do this regularly so I don't forget or have to set a reminder.
Is this different?
