PCI-E Sound Card?

Can someone recommend an "entry level" sound card with 1/4 inch, 1/8 inch, and maybe just maybe an XLR input?

Careful with that phrase "entry level", hah. Honestly, I loved my PCI ESI Juli@ for years, then later after being dragged kicking and screaming into the USB sound card world -- when PCI PCs become unobtanium -- I was like "Oh, these are good (and often cheap)" .
Here's just one LINK.

OK that's weird, I haven't seen that interface before, is that an XLR and 1/4 inch combo jack?

Is there a reason you want a sound card over a USB interface or does this distinction not matter? In this just for recording audio?

I didnt know those USB things existed until this thread, I thought I had to have a sound card. I would definitely rather just use the USB option. Audio only.

I have a Focusrite Scarlett similar to this to play and record music via my laptop. It is an outstanding little machine, but I have some pretty sweet sub and monitor speakers connected to it.

Can’t miss with a Focusrite Scarlett. There are cheaper audio interfaces but you get what you pay for IMO. It will have better preamps and AD conversion.

That Scarlet is a nice piece of kit.
