Defense is championship level. They will and should keep us in every game this year. Depth is impressive. Secondary suffocates

I know people are frustrated with the offense, and rightfully so, but you gotta feel like at some point Nuss and the boys are going to get this shite figured out. Maybe it’s just me.

Two of the big plays from tonight were from NOLA area prospects. John Ehret and Edna Karr. Just goes to show you that even in the modern day transfer portal era, these NOLA area schools are vital to our success

I know people hate this type of football, but maybe, just maybe, this defense is good enough to carry us. For the first time in a long time, I get up and make a drink and get a snack when we are on offense, but when we are on defense, I’m glued to my chair. Must see TV

Anyway, just like any other LSU/Florida week there’s always a lot to take from the game, but this is just my quick reaction on some shite that don’t even matter. I’m happy to go 1-0 this week. There’s a lot to be happy about, and there’s still a lot of work left to do

Great day to be a Tiger. Always good to beat Florida. In anything

Offense will be fine once Kelly takes over play calling

Offense has too much fricking talent to keep performing like this. Sloan needs to let these guys play with tempo and spread defenses out. This short passing game is not it when you got burners like brown and Hilton. Push the damn ball down the field, throw on first downs more

The defense looks outstanding, but we haven't played a high powered offense yet. There will be games we need our offense to score 30+.

We have another tune up game before going to Oxford. They have to get the offense figured out because they will be needed vs Ole Miss.

My two thoughts

1 this is the notre dame model and works when you play 1 good team a year on your schedule. But it’s never good enough to consistently beat good teams

2 Florida’s offense sucks and is a program that is crumbling with a dead coach walking. That might be the 7-8th best offense you see all year. Not a great barometer to project your season off of

I agree with your points but I think this style of defense translates well vs any offense

I like winning football, I don't really care how ugly it is. However, we consistently get into 3rd & short situations and can't convert and that is a problem. That inability to run the ball when we have to is going to keep leading to 3 and outs, and that defense will get tired. That shite doesn't happen against a playoff team. The defense played 76 plays last night, and that is not a recipe for success no matter how good the defense is this year.

Just Win Baby!

Not arguing that

The contention is a that better offensive teams will pressure the lsu offense to answer, and they have to be able to.

But it’s always best to play independent of your defense when you can. Ie score as many points as possible. You “play off of” your defense when you aren’t capable of being offensive. And that would be selling LSU’s talent short.

Kelly talks about playing complimentary football. Right now the run game is not complimentary of the pass game and the offense isn't complimentary of the defense.

I've seen some post that Ohio St won and they were a defensive team. Yes, they were and scored 35.7 ppg.

Sloan has to figure out a way to scheme this offense to at least an average to above average level. We have elite talent at WR, good TEs, a great RB and a QB that has the ability to deliver the ball. There is no excuse why we shouldn't be at least average. I get the OL is inexperienced, but they aren't scrubs.

We kinda said the same thing last year and it never really materialized. Sloan just doesn't call a game with any rhythm.

I agree. I think this offense gets it together eventually
