Make this a federal case on the grounds that almost every university gets federal funding, thus they have jurisdiction since it happened on campus.

Hang him at the capital. Make a spectacle of it.

So it is a federal case if someone gets shot as they get on the I-10 after a Saints game?

Trump should host the public hanging at the White House just before the upcoming MMA fight.

It would be glorious.

This could easily be classified and prosecuted as terrorism.

Sean Strickland would use him as a punching bag after.

Great dude, btw. I have trained with him a bit before.

Don't think it's legally possible for him to be hung at the Capital, or at all, unfortunately.

It could more easily be argued that it’s political terrorism/assassination.

Sure it can, a political assassination at a location that receives federal dollars.

There are also ways a state can hand a case off to the feds willingly.

Part of me wishes that we can do what we want with him after conviction... drawn and quartered, "enhanced interrogation" hung from the Capitol Spire for 100 days... but if you give an Ol Baw a few of his paws old tools, I'd bet he'd come up with something even more creative

And that would still be too good for this piece of shite

What about calling it what it was - an act of terrorism. I'm sure that would put the ball in Federal Court.

A state jury in Orem is probably a better forum than a federal one, which I'm guessing would encompass SLC.

So you think any location that receives a penny of federal funds gives the federal government the ability to claim a crime committed there is now a federal case? Someone gets a federal grant to put a new roof on their house, the fed can prosecute a murder that occurred in that house??? Screw the state, we got this? Do you have a single case you can point to where the feds took a case from a state when their only claim was that the federal government provided some funding at some point? Just one. Has to be either a considered private or state property that used some federal funds.

They can if they want. The feds will not wrestle it away from the state if they don't want to give it up. At least not publicly.
This may very well end up a federal case but it will not be because the school gets some federal grants or funding. That would basically open up almost every crime in the US to now being under federal jurisdiction. Hell is every business that received a PPP or SBA loan now considered federal jurisdiction?

So tell me. Is someone who gets shot on the I-10 a federal case? Simple quesstion. Yes or no. Don't be angry if you are wrong.

*If*? Doesn’t that happen to everybody? I still have a limp from the 2010 Sugar Bowl
