Good wake up call game

Everybody saw what happened last night. Lazy, unfocused, low effort.
I get it’s hard to get up for this game after last weeks monster win and looking ahead to next week but that’s the requirement to win a natty. Gotta be dialed in every week.
Injuries aside (which could be a disaster) this is a good reminder for this team. I know we’re going to play much better vs UF next week.

If you expect the offense to look much better next week against Florida, you are fooling yourself!

I really think that one of Kelly’s biggest weaknesses is his inability to motivate. That’s illustrated by how the team never seems motivated for these types of games since he’s been here. They are obviously and easily up for the big games, where they don’t depend upon getting any external motivation. But they often sleepwalk thru games where they are big favorites.

This happens to every team during the season at some point. It gets frustrating but it is reality. Even the best teams will struggle.
I disagree with you about the motivation. You can’t rely on a motivational high for everything. It will wear off eventually. At some point it needs to become a transformational habit to succeed at a high level.

I hope Nuss is a believer and is forgiven of his sins because if he goes to hell it’s going to be an eternity of him being made to scramble to the first down sticks with a wide open field in front of him and we all know there’s nothing more frightening to him than that

quote:you are correct it shouldn’t be based upon emotion, but motivation does not equal emotion. The point should be Kelly lacks the ability to instill the motivation to develop habit/discipline of high performance, that other coaches like Saban, Smart and others like them obviously have. In other words: consistent high production.

Finally, the board sobered up and stops embarrassing itself like it did last night. The chicken little syndrome was actually worse than I predicted last night. Avoided the board all night.
