Looks like Virginia is gone now.

Spanberger leading Sears in polls. Spanberger wants to make Virginia a sanctuary state, wants to rescind CC reciprocity, wants stronger gun laws, is in favor of DEI, but claims to be a "moderate". I am sick. I wish NOVA was their own state.

I can the story of the tracking of Republicans through Ohio, Taft no shite and the lutherans Methodists,, chill Amish,, to Reagan's Union endorsement sexless date with Falwells religious right i still have both a Pat Robertsan and DePoint campaigns,, that was a moment ill tell you
And I fingered a good Catholic girl from Corpus Christie at the 1984 Republican National Convention in Dallas and shared a hotel room with two Mormon kids who were pretending to sleep, and at next bed I have no idea where the other guy was I never saw him from day one to the very end he was coked out of his head

I live in Virginia now as well. I like what she has to say but unfortunately I don't think she's a great candidate. Identity politics works great on the left but not on the right.
The negative ads against Sears are really effective. She hasn't done super great in national news spots. As a retiree myself the former military identity doesn't land effectively and just being black isn't gonna sway those deep blue areas. It doesn't help at all that Youngkin hasn't really delivered that much for Virginians outside of the MAGA movement IMHO.
All that said, keeping my fingers crossed as Spanberger will be aweful for Virginia.

I live in solid red, SW Virginia. NOVA is a foreign country to us here.

Maybe not in the end, If Trump and Co. fire enough people, and/or ship their jobs to other states, Virginia might trend back Conservative. You can not live in DC without a job, and they are all leeches on the Gov. Dime.

At the very least, Youngkin has stopped the Democrats from making Virginia a sanctuary state, stopped them from revoking CC reciprocity while enacting stricter anti-gun laws, has cooperated with ICE and the immigration laws, and has prevented the Democrat party from advancing it's leftist, progressive agenda in Virginia for the last 4 years. That, in itself, is more than enough for me.
